Dr. Gardiner is the Director of the Breast Imaging Program at the Canada Diagnostic Centre in Vancouver BC, as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the UBC Department of Radiology and a breast-imaging consultant at the Specialist Referral Clinic. He sits on the Board of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (BC & Yukon Chapter).

Dr. Gardiner's area of expertise is medical breast imaging including mammography, ultrasound and MRI. Dr. Gardiner frequently speaks to radiologists, residents, medical students, technologists and lay audiences throughout North America on topics such as screening mammography and the use of computer-aided detection software for interpreting breast MRI images.

Dr. Gardiner graduated from the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Medicine in 1989. He completed his residency in radiology and fellowship in body imaging at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Gardiner is a big fan of dark chocolate, and encourages all of his patients to eat more of it.
