Dr. Sahil Kooner
SPECIALIZATION: HIP & KNEE RECONSTRUCTION

Dr. Sahil Kooner is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee reconstruction, foot and ankle reconstruction, and orthopaedic trauma. He completed dual subspecialty fellowships at the University of Toronto—first in Foot and Ankle Reconstruction at St. Michael’s Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital, followed by a comprehensive Hip and Knee Arthroplasty fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital focusing on both primary and complex revision surgery.
Dr. Kooner completed his medical degree and orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Calgary, where he developed early interests in lower-extremity reconstruction, patient outcomes, and improving access to high-quality surgical care. Since 2021, he has been practicing at Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta, where he provides a broad range of reconstructive and trauma care—from minimally invasive procedures to complex revision surgery.
He is an accomplished academic surgeon with more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters in reconstructive foot surgery and total ankle replacements. His research includes work in outpatient joint replacement efficacy, advanced foot and ankle reconstruction techniques, and improving outcomes in hip and knee arthroplasty.
