Dr. Kendall was born in Vancouver. He received his undergraduate degree in pharmacy before completing his medical degree at the University of British Columbia. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of British Columbia. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is Board Certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.  Dr. Kendall is a member of the Faculty of Orthopaedics at the University of British Columbia. His surgical and research interests include hip and knee replacement surgery including hip resurfacing and unicompartmental knee replacement.
