Dr. Ian Gardiner, MD FRCP(C)
Radiology
Dr. Gardiner is the Director of Advanced Breast Imaging Program at Canada Diagnostic Centre in Vancouver BC, as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the UBC Department of Radiology and a breast-imaging consultant at the Specialist Referral Clinic. He sits on the Board of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (BC & Yukon Chapter).
Dr. Gardiner's area of expertise is medical breast imaging including mammography, ultrasound and MRI. He is responsible for the development of professional standards and certification for breast ultrasound technologists. Dr. Gardiner regularly presents and teaches radiologists, residents, medical students, technologists and lay audiences throughout North America on topics such as structured reporting of breast ultrasound and the use of computer-aided detection software when interpreting breast MRI images.
Dr. Gardiner graduated from the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Medicine in 1989. He completed his residency in radiology and fellowship in body imaging at the University of Toronto.
